ROMAN CASTELS
Castelli Romani After experiencing the majestic charm of Rome, I invite you to immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of the countryside. These small towns, located just a twenty-minute drive from the bustling capital, are surprisingly peaceful. Human presence in these areas dates back to the Paleolithic era! Just think about it—300,000 years before the Common Era! Today, the residents of these villages will welcome you with open arms, chat with you at length if you tell them where you’re from, and take offense if you refuse to taste the crispy cookies or the lightly fermented wine—straight from Grandpa’s vineyard!—which they’ll tell you about with pride. Here, history and the present blend together in an incredibly harmonious way. It’s impossible to describe a day in the countryside around Rome. You can certainly list the towns and tourist attractions, but once you arrive… a day in the Roman countryside can only be EXPERIENCED. You’ll enjoy the absence of tourists, the company of the locals, tales of times gone by, breathtaking views, and the local cuisine.

WINE & TASTINGS
Almost all of our guests are eager to take a tour of Rome’s suburbs. Sometimes, however, they book only a sightseeing tour and later deeply regret not having decided to visit the Roman castles right away. Let me be clear: don’t expect to find Cinderella’s or Dracula’s castles in the Roman suburbs—this isn’t the right place or the right era! Nowadays, “castles” refer to charming, cozy towns with a thousand-year history, scattered like pearls on a necklace across the slopes of a dormant volcano. Despite the abundance of historical information, this trip can safely be called a gastronomic journey—each of these tiny towns has something unique and divinely delicious to offer that you simply can’t pass up without trying. After visiting the towns, we’re invited to lunch with a family of winemakers. The wine ferments in large barrels, and if you press your ear against the cool metal, you can even hear the “murmuring of the wine.” The hospitable hosts will gladly tell us about their daily lives, let us taste all their wines, olive oil, and pâtés, and with each new glass, you’ll begin to notice with surprise that you’re understanding Italian better and better… The Roman Castles and Winery Tour is both a gourmet experience and a crash course in the art of sommelier in just one day!

TIVOLI VILLAS & GARDENS
Just outside Rome, there is an incredible place that leaves you with a touch of sadness in your heart after visiting it. It is Cardinal D'Este's villa in Tivoli. A huge park, centuries-old trees, and the sound of fountains... This complex is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. A brilliant work by Pirro Ligorio from the 16th century, built in travertine, it is slowly decaying; the water is eroding the stones... This villa served as the model for the creation of Versailles and Peterhof. But, in addition to the delightful lightness of the Renaissance masters, in Tivoli you can also admire the fruits of the architectural genius of the Roman Empire period. Emperor Hadrian’s villa, which time and vandals have long sought to wipe off the face of the earth, defies it all and amazes with the harmony of the remaining buildings and the ingenuity of the engineering systems.
